The movie "Food Inc"

The movie "Food Inc" that we watched in the class was such a remarkable movie. The movie has a lot of  an interesting information about our food. The movie tells us about where our food comes from and how it is processed. The movie discusses the contamination issues and huge power exercised by food corporation, where we saw that how big corporation has controlled the farmers. The movie is well divided into three segments, in first segment it discusses about industrial production of meat which is  inhumane, environmentally harmful and abusive of animals. The farmer one who was interviewed says that his chickens have never seen sunlight and they have always been in the dark room. The second segment was about industrial production of grains and vegetables mainly based on corn and soy bean and the last segment tells about the economic and legal power of the major food companies supplying cheap food but contaminated using chemicals like pesticides and fertilizers.

The most sad part of the movie was that farmers were totally controlled by the big food companies where there was no any choice to farmers  than listening to them. One of the chicken farmer name called  Carolle, when she tried to speak up against the wrong doing of company but she got her contract terminated. The other big issue that I found in this movie was how the big company is playing dirty games with their workers hiring those immigrant who were illegal and paying very low wages.

In movie we saw the guy named Joel Salatin, who is 65 but  does not seem like, owns polyface farm.He is the good example for farmer to raise cattle in natural way, not using any antibiotics to grow his chickens faster. All his techniques applied to raise, feed and slaughter the chickem were so natural.

The Government should encourage the farmers like polyface instead of the big industry who focus only making food bigger, cheaper and faster to make only money in their pocket.

Unless the chicken, cattle, grains and vegetables are raised in their natural way,  there is no any other way we helpless consumer could get the real fresh food.No matter how hard we try to eat healthy stuff
we would not get success to keep ourselves healthy, as most of our food is already infected.

We do not want any one to die like Barbara Kowalcyk's son Kevin, who was only 2 year healthy boy and his only mistake was to eat hamburgers as we do.
